How is everyone getting videos off their phones onto the computer

This is driving me crazy. I have an android phone and I prefer to edit longer videos 2-4 minutes but recording time can be up to 10, but I want to edit them down. There's tools that are better/easier on my laptop.

Google photos takes an entire day to upload even 1 10 minute video on a strong wifi connection.

Both my phone and computer freeze when I try to transfer old school by plugging it in to my computer.

I've tried 3rd party transfer apps....I dunno. I feel like this shouldn't be an issue in 2025
