TikTok made me desperately want a pink water flosser

I’m so addicted to TikTok! There are so many interesting things that I don’t want to stop using it.

This time it is a PINK water flosser!

I didn't look at the specs. I didn't check the reviews. I didn't even care about the brand. My brain short-circuited and went straight to: "IT'S PINK. I WANT IT."

My rational brain finally kicked in at the last second, and I closed the app. But the image is burned into my mind.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s been tempted to buy something purely because it’s cute and colorful.

I literally got a pink one at TJ Maxx for $10 on the clearance rack and it works pretty well.

Water flossers are actually a great idea for people who can't/don't floss for whatever reason.

They are a great dental product.

But when legitimate, useful product categories are sold in TikTok ads you can be certain they are janky, cheap, and ridiculously overpriced.

They make a $10 product, color it pink, and sell it for $100.

Don't buy ANYTHING from advertisements on the internet. For any company spending tens of millions on TikTok or hundreds of millions to podcasters/Youtubers, there are other companies selling the same thing who don't have to increase the price to fund viral media campaigns.
