New account restrictions?

Hi!

I set up a TikTok account 4 days ago. I try uploading a profile picture (several times) and all I end up getting is green vertical lines. I upload 2 videos and I just get "Your video data is being processed. Check back later." Both videos have zero views.

I'm assuming this is some kind of new account restriction-shadow-ban-throttle-limbo until I met some sort of approval or threshold? Is this a thing? If so, how long does it take for a new account to reach some threshold or approval, or whatever? I find it hard to believe humans are reviewing all new accounts, especially consider how poor their customer service is.

I've contacted them several times via their feedback form - nothing, no reply, not even a confirmation mail that I've reached out to them. I've Googled to see if others have this issue, not much is coming up.

Anyone got any insight? Much appreciated :)
