I get that they don't like what the government is doing, but that they go out of their way to hate on anyone from isreal

Learn how to spell Israel. Then maybe people will care.

It’s def a time and place issue. People shouldn’t hate anyone because they’re from Israel but due to what’s happening at the moment using any sort of symbol for either Israel or Palestine is incredibly polarizing and controversial. Just remember that the flag symbolizes a nationality which isn’t the problem but it also symbolizes the country as a whole and its government. Which at the moment the government is at the minimum committing a slew of war crimes against a foreign country. Whether or not people believe or accept the fact that Israel is partaking in an ethnic cleanse and genocide doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s actually happening. So while the flag can represent other things right now it’s mainly symbolic of the country’s deplorable crimes against human nature. Having the flag in your name like that ultimately is a calling card for people to assume your stance on the conflict. So keep it up if you don’t mind the pushback but if it’s really bothering you then it’s prob best to remove it. Obviously if it’s your nationality then you shouldn’t be ashamed of where you come from but if you either don’t care or don’t believe in what’s happening in Palestine then you should be ashamed of yourself. Either way the flag is going to drum up hate and discussion no matter what for the foreseeable future. The same reason I don’t put an American flag next to my name as well because it causes too much controversy and it’s not worth it to me to have anyone assume my stance on anything and frankly I’m embarrassed of the U.S. and what’s been happening in it as of late. I think most people would assume you would be as well with the Israel flag and because you’re using it means you agree with their actions.

Its less about them being from israel, and more about displaying the flag in a username being anti palestine considering the times. Pride in your heritage is one thing, but pride in being a part of a country that has done horrible things of late is another. You can live in israel, be proud of being jewish, and not be happy with the country israel itself.

People fail to recognize that a country and their government aren’t one

Or they’re just too ignorant to care

it's not because they're from israel. it's that, when you are putting a flag in your bio that can seem as if you're supporting what that country is doing.
