Can't find DMs

I started using TikTok again after about a year, and for the last month or two I can't find my DMs. I checked my settings to see if they were enabled, but the setting for them wasn't there. I tried updating/reinstalling TikTok, but they still won't show up. The age on my account is old enough to see/get DMs, and TikTok hasn't messaged me about any ban/suspension on my account.
