Is it better to upload gaming 16:9 videos without filling the black space?

I am thinking about posting my 16:9 ratio YouTube content to TikTok. While I know it’s probably best to edit the content to fit the 9:16 ratio with zooms and whatever, I’m not that invested. However, is it typical and considered higher quality in the TikTok space to fill the black space with a blanking fill (blurry zoomed in version of the video that fills the rest of the screen) or is it better to not do that? I can’t seem to get a feel for what is more common or successful looking through content myself
