If you have, send them a selfie of you holding up your passport, with your face clearly visible - I would remove any glasses you may wear, if your photo does not have glasses. This is actually what they require uploaded as part of the "appeal evidence" - does it give any detail as to the actual "security issues"?

I had an issue earlier this year, and doing this had my account unlocked within twenty minutes, although China is not too far behind me in terms of timezones.
