From Rooms to Reels: Why Guests Share Hotels

After analyzing over 1,500 viral hotel videos (focusing on Share Rate as our main KPI)
, we confirmed a simple truth: brands sell a "Brochure" (staged perfection), but guests share a "Feeling" (the authentic experience).

Dataset: 1,527 videos from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts posted between July-Sep 2025.

The most shareable content consistently captures these three moments:

1. The Arrival Moment The first-person POV of opening the door to your room for the first time. This is the #1 most saved clip for travel inspiration.

2. The Sensory Test Macro close-ups of textures and sounds—crisp sheets, steaming coffee, the faucet turning on. These sensory details generate nearly 2x more comments.

3. The View Reveal The moment the curtains are pulled back to reveal the view. This is by far the single most shareableclip, turning a simple stay into a story.

So, what do you think? As a traveler, what's the one moment YOU actually bother to post on your own social media? Curious to see if it matches the data.
