Weird “notifications on” message came across video but I never touched my phone?

I was watching a video and then switched to another app to check something, then switched back to TikTok and a weird “notifications on” message appeared with a gray checkmark while the video was playing, but I wasn’t touching my phone and didn’t hit anything.

Has this happened to anyone else? I checked the creator and my notifications are not on for that profile. I’ve never seen a message like this pop up before and I’m not sure if it’s a glitch.
