thoughts on a support gem for minions

big minion fan here, i really want to have 1 singular big minion to fight for me. what are the chances they add in a support gem that allows us to make a particular minion bigger with each increase in spirit? like instead of adding another of the minion it makes it have increased size and damage?

Maybe not a support gem, but I can see uniques limiting minions. Lineage supports are awesome so maybe, but I just don't see them creating a universal single minion support for just any gem with a fixed amount of buffs with varying effectiveness between companions, spectres, or standard minion gems. Then you gotta think about the new sorc ascendency or Tactician's "minion".

We also don't have reapers yet if we're gonna get em, which was a PoE minion that ate other minions to give it like 70% more damage. Would fit in PoE2, as they were the first command minions I think.

we already have hulking minions but i assume you knew that

maybe a gem opposite of muster, like if they're the only minion summoned they gain damage

It's very hard to scale it in a way that makes them comparable. If you were to scale the single big minion to do as much damage as multiple does it would hit like an absolute truck. But then it's just massively overkilling on trash mobs, so you have to give it aoe. And if it has both an aoe that scales well and a single target attack that destroys you suddenly have the absolutely best spell in the game (we've seen this in a certain other arpg very recently).

The one major disadvantage of minions is that they don't do conventional aoe damage, but a solo minion skill would be completely useless without it. At a certain point you just end up with a second character acting as the player character, as it needs to have an assortment of skills with both advantages and disadvantages to not be overwhelmingly broken.
