Struggling to stick to one build, this game has so many options and I want to try them all.

Is anyone else like this? I love games that allow so many different ways to play and this game has really taken over my life recently. Problem is, I've barely progressed in the end game because I just keep wanting to try everything! Here has been my league so far:

  1. fire spells look cool so I started as a sorc for this, but soon realised I didn't like damage over time and wanted heavier hits
  2. So I went to warrior, loved it, finished the campaign, but I saw how cool the ice monk looks and plays so changed to a monk to try that
  3. Monk got to act 4, it was great being so fast and having the ability to freeze everything, but then I craved range
  4. So went back to my sorc and respecced into an ice/lightning build, easily one of my fav ways to play so far
  5. But then I realised other classes like the ranger have Ice arrows, so I tried that and it's by far the most fun I've had this league

And of course, this has wasted a lot of progress that I could have just done on one character in the end game. Still having fun, just wondered if others have this issue!

Yep I do this every league. Usually have 6 - 8 chars to endgame and those chars might change their builds 1 or 2 times. Always fun seeing all the different possibilities that people come up with and new interactions people find with skills and uniques. 0.1 gemling stat stacking was so much fun. 0.4 the bloodmage CoC Comet is crazy good.

Game has been out for 4 patches and I have gotten at least a dozen characters to endgame. You’re not alone. I still usually main one character each league that becomes my main moneymaker/content grinder.

Boring answer but no. I've played the same build every league so far. I really like learning all the little ins and out, messing with my passive tree in pob, see how the new patch notes uniques ect could affect my build. Best way to quickly progress from early mid late game. Getting my trade searches for every slot perfect, learning how to craft the pieces I need or otherwise learning tricks to get good deals and spot underpriced items on trade more easily.

It seems like youre missing out by playing one build the entire league. Not just in terms of fun but developing knowledge of different skills, supports and parts of the tree

I try to do at least 3 builds every league. I will say when you go for completing the atlas you’ll have less options but what you love is why we all play

Thats what I've been doing. Ill really get into build when the game hits 1.0. For now. Try them all

It's a game you are here to have fun, and by what i read, u did it perfectly.

for me personally, i love to do the hardest content like t16 fully juiced or this season temple. i started on my own build smith of kitava crossbow and did some trial of chaos for some easy money. and after I farmed some divs, I changed to a coc pathfinder, and im still building my temple and having an absolute blast.

most people pick a starter build with a good guide. push that to a certain point and then go experiment with the money they made, but in the end we are all here for the fun it depends on what u like in the game to make the best out of it

I've made 4 characters so far this league, with 6 builds between them all because I have no idea what I'll like more than something else. It's been fun. Thinking of making another but we'll see, I've accomplished most of my goals already

In my opinion, it should be like this:

First character in the entire league: mandatory to complete the entire campaign.

Subsequent characters in the same league: either a skip button, or be allowed to gain XP without penalties, so you can go from level 1 to 80 on a map. Having to complete the entire campaign every time with every character is very tiring.
