Ancient Vows Quest -- I'm new

Hey Folks, I'm questioning the Ancient Vows questline. Like I'm maybe hitting a bug...not sure.

Here's what happens. I have a Druid, I got both pieces. I went to the alter. I placed the items. They are in there. The quest is complete. The alter now shows the medallion with 2 halves (left yellow and right blue). There is a text box on the left and right. BOTH BOXES say the same thing "30% increased charm charges gained +1 Charm slot" I can click on either box and I assume they both do the same thing maybe? There is no click or anything just the box gets highlighted. I TOUGHT, that one side gives on part (+1 slot) and the other side gives the other buff...not both. I left the area and the effect was gone. Could have been I maybe clicked the box twice and the got no buff at all. I just don't know. What am I supposed to do here?

Yeah. It's an odd quest. Basically, all you got for you trouble is the ability to toggle between two bonuses. Once you place both items into the "altar" you can forever toggle to one bonus or the other. They are a passive benefit, if a little weak early game (I don't think charms matter that much until endgame).

You just pick one or the other, the buffs aren't the same, I can't remember what they actually are but there is a difference between them.

I thk one is charges gained the other is duration.
