For Plant Builds: Which ascendency class is better - Oracle or Disciple of Varashta? (in terms of early game efficiency, end game scalability, SSF-friendliness, offense and defense)

Disciple is the only ascendancy that can reach level 40 skill without any Prism of belief -- which is almost impossible to get in SSF. The guaranteed crit on Oracle is nice, but with decent gear you can easily reach 50% crit chance with Disciple, making the Oracle ascendancy redundant, but really good in strict scenarios like cast on crit. Other than that Disciple is by far superior, especially defensive wise. It's no wonder Disciple became the HC darling overnight (check ninja for detailed info).

If I were to start my league again in SSF today, I would go Disciple for my first build, then the real crit-queen for my second build -- Bloodmage.

I started plants with Disciple and was struggling late game, switched to Oracle and it was much stronger.

I played both in hc trade this league and I’ve gotta give it to oracle for ssf friendliness. From my experience on the very high end Disciple takes the lead but chances are you aren’t making it there in ssf and Oracle feels better on low to mid tier gear. Armour/es also feels really good on oracle well into t15-16s, can kinda fall off though for super juiced content.

I went Blood Mage.

Go Oracle.

DoV with 1 life works amazingly in endgame.

I played both, league started oracle and went in blind with plants as soon as possible. Oracle basically has better damage scaling, but once you get really good gear, it doesn’t matter that much. That’s why I decided to reroll Disc, since survivability is infinitely better.

im on Disciple and was blasting endgame way to easily, i got bored. Disciple is MUCH tankier. Oracle better if you wanna do cast on crit
