Essence Rework - Allow Rares to drop low tier essences.

Essences feel like a great way to introduce players to basic crafting and modifiers, they also give players a guaranteed deterministic affix.....The problem is you don't earn them often enough through the Campaign to experiment with them.

Why not give Rare monsters a relatively high chance to drop them, so that during the Campaign the system is actually used?

I would of course limit high tier essences to "Essence Monsters" that we have currently, which will balance their drops around Quantity vs Quality....Obviously they can't always drop the rarer essences.

An Essence monster is essentially just an encased rare. This feels like a logical albeit simple change that only has upsides for players interacting with a system that seems 'outdated' and pretty pointless in the game besides SSF. Even then it feels useless until Endgame.

I feel this is a better solution than just adding more essence monsters to the Campaign.

I dont really care much for essences in the campaign. Its nice if you have the right one while playing HC but the gear you have in the campaign is so frequently upgraded it doesnt really matter if you cant craft it how you want. The biggest issue isnt that you have a lack of deterministic regals its usually an exalt cap. Not saying this is bad, i think its important for balance around league starts and future character the campaign will be faster when you can 6 mod gear if needed.

I don't think that would work since essences were exclusively designed to be the "encased" event, just like catalysts are from breach and so on.

But I will say we definitely need some guaranteed big essence encounters (like runes from big sword etc) that will give a small sets of them.

And a way to reforge/reroll different minor / medium essences so they won't linger useless (for SSF/casual/beginners at least, for some reason they can go for a divine sometimes)

Essence rework is to allow greaters to be used on rares like poe1. 1 guaranteed modifier, 2-3 random ones.
