Smith of Klitava question

Hi guys.

I've seen builds with Smith of Klitava+fury of the king + Walking Calamity+ smith ascendancy Heat of the Forge.

My question is: How do they trigger Heat of the Forge? Walking Calamity is not a spell but a trigger. Walking Calamity is a trigger and cannot as far as I know be used to trigger Heat of The Forge???

Sounds like a POE2-themed porn movie

Idk if the a video is a build you wanted to follow but if it is, drop it. Don’t follow builds that don’t explain why things work the way they do.learned that the hard way!

I am using it with Living Bomb and trigger it with shred or lunar assault - it needs a melee hit to generate energy for a fire spell slotted to be triggered. On bosses (fully buffed) it does 300k dps. Works like a charm. When the boss is dead there are a ton of infusions flying around indicating that it triggers alot.

The real answer is they’re using ancestral cry (within ferocious roar) to make their steps do damage and count as hits. Here’s a great video that actually explains the interactions: https://youtu.be/FOAstHrY4KE?si=cyTT6AN1k95YyKRq

Also, walking calamity has the attack tag (at least on Poe2DB) and its damage counts as hits

The weapon provides molten crash.

Molten crash is melee. Molten crash is how the build generates fissures. For trash, just molten crash to a target and walk through. Or just molten crash to the next target because even on t16s molten crash outright kills whites and many blues. For bosses, can forge hammer (melee)/shout or just molten crash onto the boss to start the fight. If it's a more mobile fight, you will be using molten crash to get back to the boss anyway.
