Poe2 in CachyOs

Hey, Is anyone using poe2 in Cachyos?

Linux newbie here! I'm have a separate partition on another ssd to try Linux based systems. Chose Cachyos as most had recommended for gaming in other forums.

When I first started playing everything was way smoother. About 145 fps in Cachy compared to 115 in windows. As more things started happening fps went down (as expected ofc) wich in windows usually gets only as low as 45-50 fps. Maybe 35 if I'm really pushing it but I'm not playing CoC comet so.

But in cachyos, the fps went as low as 3 fps. It seems to be preforming better other then when many things are happening. Alot worse then windows.

Is anyone having this experience? Any tips on what I could check?

I'm at work so can't check anything right now but will do so when I get home.

Im using cachy but my lowest dips were ~50fps.

Did you install "gaming package" that comes with it? Because there could be some stuff that you need.

Also try other Proton versions

I do, and it works completely fine on my system (i7-12xxx, rtx3070, 32gb ram).

My answer lacks a bit of depth/details, but maybe i can give some pointers:

* Don't remember how much fps i do have, but no visual stutter except on very rare occasion (even when playing engame coc comet in maps - didn't test a fully built temple though)
* I think it runs better with DirectX 12 (or maybe even 11?) on my system. Vulkan was worse, though it should be better in theory...
* I've set the allowed shader cache size to 100GB as per CachyOS documentation
* Also, i've follow their other performance recommendations

Edit: Is your PoE install still on an NTFS partition? This can also impact performance negatively

Vulkan is barely usable for me in PoE 1, might be the same in PoE 2. I'd switch to DX12.
