It cost me ~320div to craft. Was it a good decision?

So I used

* 2 div - Solar Base with +3 skill

* 70 div - fracture after a lucky annul and unrevealed desacrate

* 75 div - roughly 150 perfect ex + annul

* 160 div - 4 dextral annulment omen after I landed on the + spirit

* 10 div - Catalysts (attribute and fire) and omen of Catalysing.

I upgraded my helmet and boots so I also needed a new ring, this all cost around 70 div, but let's assume this as an additional cost.

So I needed 55 spirit, 35% fire resist, 37 point of attributes (ooh, I forgot to Catalyse attribute, I'll have that too), and anything else useful for a bloodmage Wolf (I'm following woolies Wolfman at level 97).

Was this a reasonable spending on the crafting?

Could I have done anything better?

The fracturing orb and most of the Catalysts I farmed, the rest I had to buy.

I dont wana be that person but on an amulet you never want resistances for lategame. You loose insane amounts of damage.. resistances should ideally be fixed with helmet, boots, belt and Rings. And body if not using unique

100% not worth the price in divines you spent on it.

I cant sell +3 melee for 5 div

Probably worth way less

Suffix' suck. You're loosing a ton of damage not having crit on there, assuming youre a crit build

It’s pretty sexy, but I think you could’ve bought one for less.

I’m not an expert, but this seems worthy of risking a sanctification on for the possible +4. THEN you’d be in the money

Why perfect ex and annul instead of chaos spam? Did I miss something? Usual chaos spam is significantly more cost effective.

You need crit hit, not really crit damage. The final suffix should be something like all res or rarity for some none wasted 6th mod. Your prefixes are fine i think, I'd probably try to swap armor to global defenses but all in all there is some decent utility in there. I think the ammy is pretty good and will be usable until late end game

I love crafting amulets.

I think you need to throw out your crafting strategy and start from scratch. It feels like you’re spending a lot of money to get to places you don’t need to go.

If you fracture + 3 skills then chaos spam until you get t1 spirit, % life (not flat life), t1 crit chance, or t1 crit damage. I use greater chaos orbs.

Then it matters whether you’ve chosen a prefix or a suffix. Spirit and life are prefixes, crits are suffixes.

If you chose a prefix you want to fill out the other prefixes first. - omen of greater exaltation, omen of sinistral exaltation, omen of catalyzing exaltation. All active. I like to use either life or defensive catalysts before hitting with a perfect exalt. If this exalt doesn’t go well I’ll annul it and if I accidentally annul the nice mod I chaos spammed for I just go back a step and chaos spam again.

If you chose a suffix you need to fill out the last suffix spot (this one is easier to hit). Same idea but you use a dextral exaltation omen and no greater exaltation omen. Instead of life or defense (since those really only go on prefixes) I use fire catalysts. Fire is the cheapest of the elemental catalysts and to my knowledge they all give you the same chance to hit all elemental resist which is what we’re aiming for.

The catalysts help guide the rng but aren’t guaranteed. Pretty much as long as I don’t get a total loser roll I move on to the well of souls and my favorite sneaky cheap omen of light trick.

So you have an amulet with either all the prefixes or all the suffixes filled out. Now we hit it with a collarbone and for the cost of way less money than dextral annulments, omens of light, whittles or any of that crazy expensive shit, we can use the well of souls to pick out a great t1 modifier.

You will always need omen of abyssal echoes, essence of the abyss and collarbones.

If desecrating a prefix you need sinistral crystallization (twice as many as every other ingredient) and perfect essence of enhancement.

If desecrating a suffix you need dextral crystallization (twice as many…) and perfect essence of the infinite.

The goal is to add a great modifier so you can be a little picky. I usually aim for the top tier rolls like spirit, % life, or crit modifiers, there are other good options. Still be picky cuz we have as many rerolls as we have ingredients.

I always make sure my echoes and crystallization omens are active. Then reveal at well of souls.

If you hit a great modifier then move on. Usually you won’t immediately so you can pick any modifier EXCEPT ‘global defenses.’ If you’re rolling prefixes at the well of souls DO NOT pick global defenses. It bricks the whole reroll process.

So our amulet has a desecration but it sucks. So in order I put my perfect essence of enhancement/infinite first. Then essence of the abyss. Then preserved collarbone. The order matters.

Again I’ll probably double check to make sure my omens are active. Then hit it with the first crystal which will remove the desecration and add a new mod. Then hit it with the essence of the abyss (this thing does not like to work sometimes, make sure it is applied before you use the collarbone). You’ll know essence of the abyss worked when the amulet has the ‘mark of the abyssal lord’ modifier. Then just hit it with a collarbone and back to the well of souls!

Repeat the process until you get a modifier you like. It is very easy to mess up the well of souls reroll so take it slowly at first.

Now hopefully we’ve got a +3 amulet with 2 big winners and some other decent mods.

Now we’re either filling out 2 more prefixes or 1 more suffix. I do the same process as earlier using different catalysts. This is scary because it’s kind of a yolo roll. You can always try and whittle if it doesn’t hit but that rarely works because things like spirit have such a low level. If it’s an absolute trash modifier (which isn’t likely). I might just angrily annul it and pray. You can do what you think is best from here.

Always have respect for the amount of money you put into a craft as well as a realistic expectation of the money you can get out of it. Sometimes you sell things that aren’t great but didn’t cost a ton to craft. And sometimes you hit rolls worth 1000s of divs.

Price check your new amulet, put it up for sale for a greedy amount and twice a day lower the price ever so slightly.

This is how I got my first mirror ever in poe2.

Thanks for reading, sorry about the long post. Good luck out there.

:edit: This is the video I learned from. Spell skills were most valuable but it's good to learn how to craft on +3 Proj, and +3 melee as well.
