Does it really drop so few expedition tablets ? Is there a good way to farm them ? I'm always super low on them

Wow that many divines really. I am new to the game and currently doing t15 maps. Stuck with medicore gear because I have no currency to get better stuff. Do you think these expeditions are easy to do for a new player? Do I just use the precursor tablets that spawn more expeditions?

How do you maximize consistent runic splinters per run? I’ll have runs with 40-50 and runs with 10-20, had one with zero which turned me off completely to the entire thing.
