I feel like im wasting resources making gear during the campaign

Hey all,

Im in act 3 right now (almost done) and ive been making gear using augmentation orbs, regal and exalt and I feel like im wasting mats since better gear drops with higher armor and stats and what not and my crafted stuff is wasted.

At the start of act 3 I just started picking up rares and wearing them instead of crafting them. Things were going smoothly until I was semi-stuck on the boss that knocks out Avila (the one where her legion surrounds you and pokes you with spears)

I beat her eventually but it took me like 15 attempts.

With that said should I go back to crafting gear instead? I dont mind bashing my face against a wall so I can get to end game with more mats but I also dont want to get stuck at a boss for days.

you're not, plus its better to understand how they work early on with lower tier currency on leveling gear rather than flubbing perfect exalts

use it, enjoy the campaign

Are u checking vendors, vendor shop refreshes every time u level up they have some what good gear also if u have a decent amount of gold try to gamble it for u r weapon but don't do to much gamble at act 4 start u will unlock hideout from there u can trade with other players assuming u r not ssf where u can find good gear only use orbs if u r struck and cant seem to progress

If you are in trade league, never. Never ever craft gear unless you are in late endgame and that craft is optimized and results in a >400 div item. You can certainly buy incredible upgrades for less than you will waste crafting, especially during campaign.

In SSF, minimally, you don’t want to waste resources on gear that will be quickly replaced. I normally save resources until I hit a wall like you did, then spend some runes, quality mats, uncut gems, exalts, etc to not inhibit progress.

The mats you find are not worth anything in endgame, use them to craft your gear as well as you can (except divines, annul, expensive omens, sell these).

I love crafting my own gear during campaign, it's fun and a cheap start to learning how crafting works. You can sell decent crafted low level gear for multiple (tens) divines.

Always focus on having the best weapon you can have, dead enemies do no damage :).

Don't. You'll wasting resources. For few Exalts, just find the highest DPS weapon from the trade marker.

i ivestet a bit in a new char in act1, havent changed a thing in act2, Near end of A3 I found some nice bases and threw currency into it because exalts are worthless more or less, so why not, and the good stuff for low levels sub 55 costs up to 10 div´s,

If you have a propper overpowered weapon this boss should be down before the guards do anything, so you probably lack a good weapon. +level is key, async sale with your weapontype, requirement with your level, and +levels to whatever you need like melee skill, spells, projectile skills.

Set a limit like 10ex and see what you get in terms of +levels, and then sort for dps/ele dps/ gain as extra, or spell/ele damage

repeat with filtering towards damage or add budget

Viper is nasty and it takes a few tries. There really is no need to save mats for endgame as there is plenty later on. I usually do minimal crafting ony early gear, but it's best to use exalts to just buy gear off other ppl and gold to buy from vendors. Visit them each time you level up. Be sure to do your temple as you go along, it helps. You can also leech juiced temples with people and get levels and loot plus they pay a little too. Not sure of there is a min level req, but check global/trade chats or discord for temple runs.

You can use those exalts to buy good weapons on the market. Also use your gold to gamble for new gear too. Rings and gloves give damage so are worth trying to gamble for good ones

Especially with the vaal temple, upgrading gear as you go is so easy this league. Just send it.

It is extremely important to know breakpoints for modifiers and SAVE YOUR CURRENCY FOR THE HIGHEST ILVL ITEM.

If you hold on to items from previous acts and keep crafting on them the item level will be too low to land good mods.

Conversely if you save your currency and use it on the high item level base you can find you will (probably) get a better item even if the base seems worse.

You can find the required item level for modifiers on poe2db.

Hope it helps
