Suggestion about Endgame disenchanting

Hi all, i would like to hear your opinion about late game disenchanting.

In the early game, seeing your first piece of yellow gear is really quite amazing, and for someone that is unprepared - sometimes a call to pivot their character entirely . And that is great.

Later if u know that this piece is useless, or maybe after a long deliberation between two pieces, you might start disenchanting some, going back to town, inhaling the atmosphere, watching other players in town, maybe even browsing shop. All while getting those juicy and scarce regal/transmute shards. And that is great too

In later stages of compaign, you still mainly do

the same, even though regal and aug are not as scarce anymore, and drops are much more frequent. Because the time between city visits is short, your build is mainly formed (so u are fast), and questing structure is formed in a way that frequently pulls you to town. So you have time to still collect and then disenchant your loot.

But during the endgame this process becomes much much more tedious. The maps are starting to be juiced. And there are a lot of yellow drops. I still really like my t1 regals. As they are still very useful but the maping that as i suppose everyone is starting to reaaaally zoom through, becomes a real swamp. I kill a big pack of mobs, and drop a butt tonn of equipment, some of which i would like to disenchant for those juicy double regal shards. But to do that - i have to pick it up, tp to hideout dis, sort, stash, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. Then next pack of mobs. Sometimes i get distracted, and, as im not in a map, it gets blown. That is very frustrating.

So guys, how do you think about adding some possibility to disenchant items right in a map during endgame? I think like an endgame unlock, or even better: a special currency: “scroll of disenchantment” that might only sell for gold, and never drop, think about it:

  1. another gold sink beside respec, trade filpping, and a very rare unique strongbox

  2. mapping becomes much smoother

  3. maybe even some unexplored design space with disenchantment

And also, while i was writing this, i thought about real fast trade league guys, that might say “don’t bother, just download a loot filter, and skip everything”. But i think, that it s pretty lame for your loot to just rot, and simple regals are very useful for tablets, maps, jewels, and etc.

This is something you'll just have to accept. 99% of drops are useless. Get used to that, trust me.

and simple regals are very useful for tablets, maps, jewels, and etc.

You will have some many regals, greater regals, and perfect regals drops that the idea of making one from 10 shards is an utter waste of time.

In short, this is an utter nonissue.

There is no need for disenchanting in maps cause you drop a ton of the currency either way. Usually, people start hiding it at some point. Gold is only meant as an arbitrage blocker, so people can’t currency exchange infinitely without extra steps.

if you're trade league you probably shouldn't be picking up regal orbs let alone disenchanting, I would recommend getting a stricter filter and picking up few rares.

even if you're ssf you should be getting enough orbs to not care about shards no?

I did actually read almost all of your post but skipped the last paragraph, but this needs to be said anyway because there's a good reason you should skip regal shards. you can currently buy 499 regal orbs for 1 chaos orb, you're losing money with the time it takes to pick up and stash 499 orbs let alone disenchanting gear for 2/10 or an orb

Get yourself a quad stash tab, name it DUMP.

I am a loot goblin. I filter so I see any socket, quality, rare, and all currency.

I pick it all up, when full, I TP to hideout. From this TP in my hideout, doryani is 1 step away, but doesn’t matter, CTRL+LMB auto IDs, then I click on my chest (it’s next to him, character doesn’t even move) and mass drop everything to this tab, remits something that affinity puts somewhere else, good.

Return to the map, maybe 20sec turnaround.

When that tab is full, I’ll pause between maps and sell it all like so:

CTRL+LMB all “big items” (6 clicks). My salvager is next to my refiner that’s next to the chest, again, haven’t moved character they’re that close)

Anything that’s blue or white gets broken into quality shards or socket shards.

Now click on Doryani to sell (remember, he’s right next to the chest, that I’m next to, and he’s positioned that none of these pop-up screens need to be closed, as they close when you click on the next target.

Repeat this for the 6square stuff (armor/foci) + 4square. I audible count “1-2-3-4-5-6” “1-2-3-4-5-6”’as I click each 6 then 4 square items. The whole quad tab takes ~5 min to do it all.

Sell all those rares, checking that an item doesn’t warrant a follow-up. Rolls that look good I’ll ALT-check their tier, if it’s not satisfactory, SOLD, otherwise, I’ll put them in a different stash tab when I return to the chest, throw the mats/kept gear to appropriate spot (further in the progression, less kept items)

I don’t care about currency, once you begin getting divs, you can buy the fancier stuff, but exalts suffice for regals/alchs if needed (I think every league 1 time I will buy 100+regals and that’s the only self currency exchange I need and will convert stuff around to fill in low counts.
