Specifically I'm trying to put a lesser desert rune into a corrupted Tabula Rasa, though I have had this issue before with corrupted weapons.
If I try to socket it while equipped, I can't even hover over Tabula Rasa, but when I unequip it and hover over it with the rune and click "place", the rune simply swaps with the chest and I'm now holding Tabula Rasa.
Pretty sure Tabula Rasa has JEWEL sockets, not regular sockets.

Tabula doesn't have rune sockets it has basic jewel sockets

You can only put jewels in Tabula Rasa, like the kind that go on the passive tree
I know other gave you the answer, but I have to ask; You really thought this chest gave you 6 rune sockets and nothing else and decided it was a good idea to use it over another chest?
