New player – I keep dying and Lightning Warp sometimes doesn’t work?

I can tell you, there are a few problems with lightning warp. You're right, sometimes it just doesn't go off but clicking ahead of the ball sometimes helps.

The other part about it is that you are effectively putting yourself in melee a lot of the time and that can be very problematic. I played a super juiced version of the infinite warp lightning build and there would be times you would land in a pile of mobs by chance and they would all turn around and whack you all at once. Even though i had high investment, I still couldn't get past 97 with the build last league because all it took was a crowd to stun/ministun you to death.

My advice would be to change to something else, build around range. While lightning warp was fun as heck, it requires a lot of investment which would also include defence which is hard to balance early on in your journey.

You need to list your elemental resistances when asking the "why am I dying" question (character tab).

Glancing at your equipment, you have 0% cold resistance (or lower, likely) - by Act 3, I'm not sure how much GGG intends for you to have of each resistance, but if you take a large cold hit as you are you're probably taking 35%~ more damage per hit than the game is balanced around.

It's really tricky to answer these questions, I feel we have to see you play a little bit. But I think the general culprit is your DPS is too low and this is caused by some players refraining from taking advantage of various "hard" skill combos that allow them to clear rares or packs faster.

I am just going to assume that you sometimes warp in, get stunned , and then they clap you. You’re likely around more ES nodes and ES ( someone correct me if I’m wrong ) is still very good for scaling. I would stick with ES gear, just stack it if as much as you can. While you’re leveling pre-endgame sprinkling in HP won’t hurt since bleed and poison is a thing.

Edit: Arctic Armor is also a great option if you’re not already using it.

I enjoy arc + warp far more

Lightning warp skill was changed this league to also apply a debuff on enemies if they're over culling HP. However, when used with Ball lightning, it seems to prioritise the debuff rather than the BL, which gives the feeling that the skill is not working. To make it worse, sometimes you'll just lock onto an enemy when warping - this means even if you move your mouse away/target away, it still tries to apply that debuff on the locked enemy - this happens frequently on bosses.

There are workarounds, but nothing works 100% of the time.

This debuff change has broken the entire interaction this league and is what made me move away from lightning warp.

what is your weapon? If you dont have + Levels to spell skills/Lightning spell skill just check vendors every level until you find one or if one drops
