Hopped on standard after not playing since last season and my gloves and boots are red with no indications why I cannot use them. Also I don't get life Regen like I did when I played during league. I meet the attribute requirements for the gloves and boots. they both have 3 sockets I cant figure out why they are red. there is also a red ! on my skills as well with no indication as to what the problem is either.
Some of the socketables are unique now, probably the problem.
Spark was triple (Quadruple?) tapped in 0.2. It now scales very poorly (but still starts out fairly decent) As too why you can't equip your boots and gloves, I would check to see if you have a limited (1) gem, such as the +% mana gem (Zalatl's) we all used to use. The red (!) confuses me, maybe you have multiple copies of Spark socketed. Try those problem solving things first, and if it doesn't work, let me know and I'll think further.
That sounds like a passive tree reset from a major patch. Your skills and gear might be red because you're missing key passives or stat requirements you had before the tree update. Try checking the patch notes for any passive tree changes and see if respeccing fixes it.
