What's up with Omen of Lights and rarity on gear?

So I'm late to the party, but decided to try out Omen of light farming, I had almost no rarity on my gear and was getting 3-6 omens of light on most of my maps, so decided to invest a few hundred divine into rarity, getting it from 0 to 126, and now I'm lucky if I get one Omen of Light to drop, even echos drop way less. The tablets I use haven't changed, only my rarity on my gear, am I just very unlucky or is rarity on gear just jank with this farm? I get plenty of the right mob's to spawn, so I know that isn't the issue.
