Performance tips

when playing i often have a smooth 140-150 fps and then it randomly stays stuck between 30-40. i have most settings on low except for textures i feel like this game is badly optimised my pc normally runs everything fine.

can anyone give me any settings i should tweak or anything else to boost my fps?? it gets really really bad at times then others its perfect

It's probably a cpu thing, either on your side or caused by game. If you have a decent to high-end cpu and still get issues, I would suggest changing sound settings. Taking the channel count to medium/low did wonders for me when I first started playing. I don't have a high end gpu and game looks kinda shitty for me still, but I don't get any stutters, even in crowded areas.

Annoyingly Vulkan improves everything (other than quality)

Dramatically more stable.

That said, the optimisation for 0.4 is much better

set max fps to 60. turn water and shadow settings down. but quality you can keep high

game is heavily CPU bottlenecked. i run 5080 + 9800X3D and also drop to 30-50 during heavy action on vulkan. can't even play DX12 at all because of the coghweel crashing that GGG admitted they cannot find a fix for. i know it's CPU bottlenecked because even though FPS tanks like a rock the GPU usage is only sitting around 50% but CPU spikes up. if 9800X3D can't keep up then nothing can.

Switching to Vulcan, changing cpu affinities if you're on an x3d chip, going to a random 5 digit global chat and using /clear to reset it, increasing shader cache size, and changing power settings for the game in windows to max are all good starting points
