Now that we have the announcement of the announcement, here's my ultimate wish list for 0.5. What do you think we'll actually get?

I hope they quadruple tap Comet CoC, feels like almost every build just devolves into it in one way or another

I’m hoping for a map size reduction again. These damn maps, even with move speed as implicit on all boots, would still be too damn big

As much as I would like to see an ignite rework I'd like to see first what GGG wants for ailments (even non damaging) first. The nerf to shock this league may be an indication, in any case besides its own utility (DoT) ignite has two main problems:

  1. The first one is the lack of skills which consume ignite: afaik there are 2 skills which consume ignite and I believe that both are spells. So there are no maces skills and no skills close to avatar of kitava. On the other hand shock and freeze have a lot of skills consuming them so not only are they more useful by themselves, they also blend better with the game mechanics
  2. The second main problem of ignite is the absolute lack of interactions between the herald of ifre element and its ailment. Both of the other elemental heralds have a loop that involves their ailment and its consumption:
  • herald of thunder is attack with lightning damage -> shock -> kill shocked target -> attack with lightning + lightning AoE.
  • Herald of ice is attack with cold damage -> freeze -> kill frozen target -> explosion of cold damage.
  • And the mighty heral of ashes is attack with whatever the fuck you want it does not matter lol -> ignite. no satisfying loop, no need to apply and consume an ailment, you're not even expected to use this element to use the herald. It's free real estate really.
  1. And then the best piece about this herald shows itself: the herald of ashes is counterintuitive with its own element and ailment.
    • Herald of thunder is good with lightning skills because those skills usually chain, so it's beneficial for a herald released on hit.
    • Herald of ice works well with cold skills, particularly the ones that have huge freeze buildup since they don't do a lot of damage, the herald can complement this.
    • And then we have our glorious herald of ashes, which scales of overkill and thus is completely in contradiction with any kind of DoT. Fortunately fire's ailment is not a DoT in PoE2.

Lightning has an edge because it chains a lot,, Cold because it has AoE. Fire has none and is even more gimped by its herald

Why would we want tablet/map juicing overhaul?

Genuine question because I came from .1 and the system in place now is glorious.by comparison.

At the start of maps we can either engage with trade to buy tablets for an incredibly modest fee OR we can go in to maps and very quickly get our own.

And with the tablets, we can engage with the "crafting" system via currency or bench.

The atlas itself can be traversed with freedom. No more trying to save maps and find RNG tower setups. Pick a direction and go, Exile.

I don't see B1, O2, B2, N4, and B5 coming on this personally.

Honorable mentions that didn't make it into the card:

  • PS5 performance improvements
  • Faster loading times (on all platforms)
  • Instant switching between KBM and controllers
  • Improvements to minion AI, speed, and damage

GGG will give comet the flameblast/lightning conduit treatment with a 10 sec cooldown and call it a day

Maps will still have terrible design so end game reworks will seem great on paper but still have issues functioning on more than a third of the maps.
