The game is way more fun when you finally do enough damage that you can spend points into stuff reduced movement speed penalty while moving and whatnot on the tree

Some of my other builds were so hungry for damage that literally all my points would go towards damage nodes. It's so fun theory crafting a build when you don't starve for damage. I really wish they'd remove damage nodes from the tree to be honest, it's kinda boring just getting % to proj damage and % inc. crit chance and what have you. Same goes for items, it's fascinating to me balancing all the other sorts of mods that's out there. I just hope the next ineviatable nerf doesn't wipe out all the QOL aspects of my build that I've added lol.

There's so many cool affixes and passive tree nodes that exist, and they def helped with removing health from the tree in that regard. Here's to hopefully us being able to actually use the various other mods out there.

Devs decided skill point nodes need to SUCK for defense, and be extremely strong for damage

Devs also decided gear should be 99% of your survivability, and only your weapon and maybe some +skill should control your damage.

This means, if you actually pay attention, you actually naturally get tankier over time as you gear up in end game, only to finally get tanky enough RIGHT when you're about to quit. (Unless you wanna farm for true BIS or something that weird crazy people do.)

Getting a From Nothing - Vaal Pact was my moment of joy. Picked up the passive to remove the movement speed penalty from armor + the increases to move speed. Had my titan moving at like 51% increased speed I think

No need to wait, get those nodes right away and buy yourself a better weapon. All the damage nodes are %bonuses to your weapon. The idea is that the tree and your support gems are multipliers for your gear's stats.

Honestly a big fan of QoL in game but appreciate the availability of damage nodes especially when saving up for better gear/ leveling, then respec to more QoL when equipment allows

This reads like a satire about how removing life from the tree is no less ridiculous than removing damage from the tree. A really, really effective one, actually.
