it is something that exists in PoE1 because of how it's skill gem system works in general, but the idea is to have the same skill twice but with different support gems for different usages.
But currently PoE2 does not allow this, maybe for balance reasons.
But should GGG allow us to use the same skill more than once?
if so what would you try to build with it?
Before they reworked support gems in 0.3, it was possible and fairly common. I kinda prefer not having multiple copies if a skill though, forces you work with fewer options. I think it was changed because they got rid of the limits of how many times you can use support gems on a build.
Given the choices of 1 copy of a skill gem or 1 copy of a support gem, id pick the former.

Or does minions not count? I swear some minion builds used different copies of storm mages with different supports
have you tried removing the skill you have and then try adding the same skill with an uncut? afterwards place back the skill you have already. always done it that way.
You can have multiple of the same skill, just use the specialization system
You can use a skill in CoC and I’m assuming CoEA and then use it regularly. I run two comets
Then auguary + dialla's will be baked into every link setup 💀
Its inconsistent to allow two comets in CoC so maybe that will be one nerf
GGG wants us to use different skill combos. In that regards the current system is spot on, working as intended.
