I bought the game when the early access was first released and played about 50 hours with 0 performance issues. I just started playing again recently on the same PC with updated graphics drivers and the game stutters so much. It seems unaffected by changing graphics and frame rate settings. My internet is good and I have a server selected thats like 20-30ping. Has anybody encountered this? The game isnt unplayable but its very annoying especially with a nice PC
There have been numerous posts on stuttering with suggested fixes. Pretty sure most of them still apply. Clear shader cache and increase it to 100gb. There are more advanced things you can do involving regedit (tweaking networking protocols etc), but the chances are it's either shader or CPU related, assuming drivers are all up to date etc. I have a 9800x3D, which is arguably one of the best processors for gaming and it still struggles sometimes (due to poor optimisation, which has been improved somewhat recently). What’s your specs? When you use the performance overlay does the game use all of your gpu?
I also face this sometimes with high end PC and good internet and pings. Just a quick question - are you playing on kbm or controller - 3 potential causes that I found out about similar issues are:
- VSync
- Wireless Controller
- Auto select server and/or DNS
Mine seems to be because of the controller and it is smoother when I use a wired controller.
The game is very demanding to ssd speed (for shader cache)
switch between renderers and delete shader cache
14700k and recently upgraded from 3060 to 5080. It stutters less with the 5080, but there is still problems, especially the cogwheels and shader thing.
You have it installed on an SSD?
