Just got the game three days ago

After hesitating for a long time because I never got into the first one I jumped the gun three days agoy got the game and I have to say, I am glad I did! Started out as Druid, had a bit of a hard time against some bosses in the first act ( although now I think it was more me not knowing what to do character and gearing wise ). Started again as Mercenary and I have to say I have a blast! Bosses seem to be way more manageable ( dont know if its just me getting better or a difference in class power) and running around blasting things with the equivalent of a shotgun is just plain awesome. Graphics are phenomenal for an Arpg as well as the art direction. But one of the biggest things that makes it fun for me is the way they changed the skillsystem in comparison to the first part. Aa someone who excusivly plays ssf, getting equipment with the right amount of sockets in the right colours was way more tedious than fun. It seems to me with the new system you can experiment way more. I am still early in the game, but I am already looking forward to trying out other classes and see how far I can get into the endgame.

Trading is just ppl rushing to endgame to cause a problem or sell them on ebay as high items. Just enjoy the game like your doing no need to trade as it will feel like someone just went oooo here you go you need a hand

Ssf when you are new to this game is a bad idea. You really want to buy the more annoying to get items or items you have no idea how to get. It will be large learning curve without trade.

I like how the first two comments are like the worst one is I give you divs the other is don't play ssf - Let my man play and learn I am playing ssf myself and I'm enjoying it A LOT, doing lots of research, learning how to craft and efficiently navigate through the skill tree is an amazing experience fixing issues in your build is part of a learning curve have fun my guy I made it to T15 and killed all uber bosses on SSF this very league you got this perseverance is key! Now my goal is to get lots of broken stuff to feed all my subsequent characters and try to make fun builds that works :)

Welcome, and playing SSF from the start is based! I hope you keep enjoying yourself as you explore more.

It took me a few years to understand which gear favored certain colors. Like on an intelligence body armour, you can easily get 4 blues and 1 red and 1 green. I never studied the database like I have for this game and I wonder what kind of experience I'm gonna have if I go back to poe1 now that I'm consistently hitting the 90's in poe2

Welcome! Ssf is the true way to play arpg! But poe2 does have trade at its core and you loose out a ton by not doing trade. My solution to this problem became playing in trade league, but not buying or selling anything before I hit a wall and don't make significant progress over 2 weeks. That happens around lvl 90. Now I play lvl 98 and half of my items are bought, it feels bad like it isn't my own build. For your first leagues, I agree with the others here that recommend ssf playstyle. It's hard, but the K pledge you gain is very valuable. Good luck!

Glad you're enjoying it, I'm a bit obsessed with this game rn, lol. With all the possible skill combinations, especially once you get into weapon swapping, there's a crazy amount of builds to explore, and this is before they've even released every weapon category.
