At the interlude stage, cant click on the map device on hideout at all and ive spoken to everyone in town at A4, I can move the thing in edit mode, just not interact with it or use it.

Gotta do the interludes before you can interact with your map device I believe

Finish the campaign + interludes, talk to hooded one in kingsmarch, travel, talk to doryani, run the map he gives you

You need to complete the interludes first. Mapping comes after campaign

You will find having too many waystones a good thing because you may die before you can complete them. Once you get too many you can reforge three of them for the next higher tier also..

Must finish campaign first.

Just open a portal through the refuge and then you can already enter it through your hideout
