Is this League's Endgame economy just a bad start for new players who joined late?

This is my first league, only started playing a couple weeks ago.

I've been trying to build up to reliably clear T15 and farm currencies, but the exchange rates seem so painful that I don't know how I'm going to claw my way out of only being able to afford Exalted Orb gear or the occasional double-digit DivOrb gear pieces. The most I've been able to make was several thousand Ex on Riven Splinters, but I'm also in Citadel Purgatory and haven't been able to upgrade tablets so I'm not getting logbooks lately either. Those 5kish Ex only translated to about 13 Div anyway.

I can tell that the economy is inflated from Temple and other exploits, most of which were fixed before I started playing, so I don't really have an avenue to catch up.

So I guess my question is: should I just forget about maxing builds, getting characters to 100, or farming rare currency at this point, and just wait until the next league for whatever economy tweaks GGG is going to implement?

This is the greatest game ever made. Glad you found it. It must look a bit overwhelming with all the content over the years. Just pick a strong build guide and a good farming strat. Learns those two inside and out and then keep doing that every character/league. You’ll eventually learn enough about many different things to be confident

First of all you can still produce a temple that can print divines, it’s just laid out differently and requires some techs you can look up. Golem works, spymasters, etc.

Lots of ways to make currency this league as well at a low bar. People have named a bunch already so I won’t pollute it with the same suggestions.

Honestly I would say this is the best league for a new player. You can gear up to the point where you can take on 90% of endgame content for extremely cheap, make tons of different builds just by leeching temple for experience if you want to power level, and even make your own items with raw chaos/annul/perfect orbs and more. Essences are also a great way to get some crafting done and abyss can yield a decent modifier sometimes even with the basic preserved versions if you’re on a budget.

I kinda felt the opposite. Decent gear seems relatively cheap but minmax gear is expensive. U just need to get lucky with like 1 immured fury node and u got 30 divs to jump start. I would just sell all sort of splinters / catalysts first.

The thing with temple being raw currency printer it means more people are farming there instead of elsewhere. That means the other stuff becomes super valuable to temple people think with them fixing the omen of light exploit it shot them up to like 70-80 div. Logbooks are rare but if you get one i say farm the splinters and sell them since you are low on currency. Hell even breach is a huge profit caster and mana cata go for 1:1 for div.

So i think this is the best time for new players and late starters to try out alot of different builds. With non perfect gear being cheap you can easily have 1 good day and bank roll yourself for the rest of league. Its important you dont get the fomo of i need perfect gear to clear content. That is what sets alot of new players back.

Its great actually, you can make tons of currency doing almost anything.

There is so much currency floating around I actually think it's probably easier to gear up this league than previous ones. uber arb and chaos trial fragments are 15-30 div each, logbooks are 10+, omens and bones from abyss are 40-100 div, the list goes on. Also FWIW temple is still not 'fixed' you can build a temple that gives 70 divs a run today if you want to, though it takes a dozen hours minimum (if you're lucky) to really see rewards from it.

You can wait if you want to, but the economy right now is actually pretty friendly for new players because good gear is incredibly cheap. You can get a headhunter for next to nothing. Pretty much the only stuff that is really expensive are items with specific combinations of corruptions/vaal cultivations or extremely high end rares.

What build are you? If you can't reliably clear T15s on a ~20 div budget then something seems off.

If you really want to catch up easy though just go to the TFT discord and leech some temple runs. There is a channel where temple hosts advertise for leechers. Most hosts pay 15-20 div for a full run if you follow the rules with larger jackpots if a lock or mirror drops. You also get to loot what they leave behind, which is often a lot of currency that is less than a div individually but adds up fast. You'll also get a ton of gold this way.

Getting to a point where you can clear T15s and farm logbooks or citadels/lineage supports should be pretty easy.

Buy some "visions of paradise" tablets and some "great project" tablets.

Use the project tablets to jump towers and to cleanse corrupted nexus maps without stepping on the corrupted maps around them.

Find a cleansed map which has an immured fury in it, use a visions tablet to run the map twice and you have two fracturing orbs which go for roughly 38 div's a piece. Rinse and repeat until you can afford better gear.

You don't need t15 juiced waystones for any of this. T10 should be enough.

You'll invest about 3 div's for the tablets maybe less and make around 76 which is a profit of 73 div's

If you're gonna be online in about 15-20 minutes or later, I could give you some tablets for free. Just write me your characters name.

Only super BIS gear is double digit div prices. You get very reasonable gear for a few ex, which allows you to beat all content. If you enjoy minmaxing, then just build a temple and run that one. It will give you exp to easily reach lvl 100. Be aware, building a temple can be a very boring chore which is not profitable until you have about 60 rooms set.

As others have stated, almost perfect gear is dirt cheap. Perfect gear is expensive. Just save and buy a 100ex piece that is an upgrade, and get yourself out of Citadel purgatory. Worry about min-maxing later.
