Changes to endgame that must happen?

I think the endgame rework hopefully coming in 0.5 should be almost a full one, changing to a finite look but infinite maps, now Hear me out. Having played since early access started, the only endgame I enjoyed was in 0.1, not because it was great, but because it was a new experience for me and I could see the potential of having an infinite endgame system. But that got repetitive real quick the next league and the changes done to it weren't much of a change or help to the situation. I think the problem is that they're trying to improve upon this endless, without purpose map that gives you 0 satisfaction whenever you complete anything and No motivation to do so.

My Idea is having a Tree shaped "map" which is essentially infinite, but with finite branches, giving you the feel that you completed something, like finishing a branch that ends with a super difficult boss or event or whatever the case may be.

Honestly we can all agree after this season, that feeling rewarded is not all loot rewards, this league for example, currency was all over, people were able to get their dream builds yet we all felt that this ain't it, this isn't what it's all about, farming temples isn't what endgame should be about and that is exactly the point I'm trying to make, purposeless endgame, leads to no feeling of satisfaction whatsoever.

My idea isn't the best there is I'm sure it could be improved upon like having an infinite amount of finite trees with finite branches where at the top of the tree something crazy awaits you, or even implementing a whole different Idea.

I hope to hear what the community thinks about this and how would you go on to fix the current state of endgame?

No hate whatsoever to poe2, love the game and always hope it becomes the best version where we all can have fun and enjoy all the content in it.

I think we need some sort of infinite scaling difficulty type of map system. T15s become easy in like 3 days. Min maxing is fun and should be the end game mission, now pair that with something that is incredibly difficult would be super fun. Also loot drops to be re worked would be good because 99% of drops are just trash.

density/zoom is still too ridiculous on the top end.

the whole point of poe2 was a big reset. they need to be brave or give me ruthless mode.

im literally happy to die on hc self found so i can enjoy how good progression feels in the campaign again.

I saw an idea a while ago that the Atlas map should be areas that you have to complete before moving onto the next, and then you can choose which area you go to next. I feel like they already have ideas like this in the new PoE1 update (not a PoE1 player I'll admit). Progression is very unsatisfying right now, I just open the atlas and mindlessly go from node-to-node, never feeling like I actually did anything.

Having the atlas split into, let's say stages, would allow you to either take your time to explore a full stage, replay a full stage, choose which stage you'll go to, and optimize your route through a stage. You can even have citadel exclusive stages, choices to hold onto multiple stages or anything.

Make it an Atlas. And make the Atlas skill tree way better at modifying mechanics instead of mandatory tablets.

Better alch and go than currently.

Challenges per league (personal, I love challenges, they give me a goal once I've done all I want).

Scrap it all, and actually make poe 2 instead of kinda like poe 1 anyways.

Second infinite scaling mechanic with leaderboard. Some of us need to push always.

Echoing the request of others for infinite scaling/leaderboard. The one thing I always loved about D3 was checking where I was relative to others playing my class etc. It's not as cut and dry with PoE's complexity, and people will complain because there will always be one or two builds head and shoulders above the rest, but if they can break down the leaderboard by skill gem or something, that would be awesome.

My favorite PoE 1 endgame fix is doing boss rotations/maven invitations. Give me something like that in PoE 2 and I'm hooked.

I like knowing that after x # of maps, I get to do a big, challenging, rewarding boss. Right now it feels so random. Will I find a citadel in the next 300 maps? Maybe, probably not.

I've never fought the Arbiter before. Every season, even the beginning when finding Citadels was quicker, I just didn't feel like it. And not doing it really didn't change anything. As far as I know the only reason to do it now is 2 Boss points and Rare Tablets? I mean, with my limited playtime I can live without that.

I try to push endgame, but I do not reach the heights of a lot of players in the slightest. I hit one Omen of Light after the "fix" to drop rate and sold it for ~200 div. I feel like Richie Rich over here going back through campaign and trying builds I'm thinking of.

For like endgame-endgame people need goalposts. Not just goals. Direction and finality. That being said "endgame" always implies an END and that ceiling will always be reached. Some type of endless mode might cure the itch for some but not all. I really like the Tower/Tablet rework. I just wish I had more power in the Atlas tree. I want to farm wisps so bad, but they are SO F-ing annoying.

Every thread I read has people talking about how easy it is to make currency this season. Well, I play an average of 2-3 hours on a good night, and I've never been super hardcore into minmaxing the fun out of things... I've seen no breach rings, barely any catalysts, and as I said one Omen of Light. I even target farm Abysses. I feel like MY endgame should be just as important as people who get to dump time into the game. My endgame dream would be an atlas like others have stated: Semi-endless, more choice on what areas I interact with. I mean, aren't we in Wraeclast? Why am I not liberating areas like countries or states in a sense? Why are there 6 different biomes smashed next to each other? It's just more RNG for RNG sake.

Anyway. I'm rambling. I just want more control and less flinging darts.

Play poe 1. They already have this. I personally like the current direction of the game. It's about making personal goals.
