First time playing this genre. Would you recommend following a build guide or just going in blind. Btw I'm on ps5 don't know if that's relevant

Play it blind through the campaign and then look up a build for endgame.

You're really doing yourself a disservice if you follow a guide for your first playthrough.

Definitely blind playthrough to get the feel of the game. Ohh... the nostalgia, during the Early Access release and my first blind playthrough of Act1 and Act2 Bosses.

I would say start of blind but if you get stuck or get to endgame I would go guide. The game can be a lot fit brand new players.

I'd go in blind, but acknowledging you're gonna run into extra frustrations. You don't get that many skill or support gems really early, so if you pick a skill(s) that aren't really working for you, you may have to restart (you can always start a new character, go through the first area or 2 and get the guaranteed drops, then put them in your stash and give them to your main char).

Go in blind. The game is amazing on a first play through and rewards for figuring stuff out yourself.

I’m all for experiencing it blind for the first run, but I also understand that POE is an extremely complex game for newbies. I’d say start your own build and look up tips along the way.

Go blind, once you get stuck at a point where even after 2 hours you are stuck thats when you go for the guide to see whats lacking to improve the build or change it. As for controller better to go for range builds if new. Witch, Sorc, Ranger, Merc are great options

Guide when you get stuck or frustrated, but start yourself.

Dying in campaign is okay, especially when learning bosses. If you're dying a tonne just going through the zones, time for a guide.

Follow a starter guide on mobalytics. Pick a character you like, and look at any starter build for them. Enjoy the game :)
