Best WiFi hotspot option while out of town and playing POE2 on my gaming PC.

Hello 👋 I have a question, and I apologize in advance if this has already been asked before. I’ll be out of town in a few months working, and while doing so I’m definitely not missing out on playing poe2 (the Djinn build + plant magic is so much fun!).

I’m not great with tech so I wanted some options on what type of hotspot portable router I should get to avoid the game just constantly lagging. The Airbnb says it has WiFi but that’s always a hit or miss. So far I’ve seen that you can make the WiFi available connect better with a Duel Band WiFi adapter (I assume it works like an antenna). I know you can use your phone as a hot spot as well but I’m not sure if that would be the most optimal choice. I’ve seen multiple portable hotspots with data subscriptions/month but if I’m not mistaken they are limited on how much data you can use. And I have no idea how much data is consumed to play poe2 online. But like I said I’m not an expert on tech/data usage while playing poe2/pc games and so on. If anyone has any info they’d like to share id greatly appreciate it!

Laptop info if needed : my laptop is an alienwear Aurora laptop, just got about a year ago.

Data consumption for poe2 ain't that high. I've played on tethered mobile data before and it's serviceable.

It would be easier to get a portable hotspot subscription if you know u can't trust the wifi at your airbnb. As well, whenever you log in from a new IP address, GGG will send you an email request to confirm your identity, so if you have to constantly swap connections, you'll be deal with a lot of email confirmations.

Just get a mobile hotspot and bill it as a business expense.

As long as you're in an area with decent ping anything will do. I play on downtime at work on a legion go 2 just casting Hotspot from my phone. It's a pve game it's not super ping sensitive, but lower is always better. Don't need speed, playing games uses very little data, it's the updates that get ya.

I use xfinity wifi pass. 10 $ per month play bf6 poe2 anything really. Using my cellphone to connect to the Hotspot with a old router xfinity router hooked up to provide the Hotspot access ( I only do so because I'm in a rural area and not many folks have it to process ide the Hotspot freely) having said this you should know that once you pay 10$ you can use this wifi hotspot anywhere Xfinity wifi is available.

Edit: forgot to mention i don't connect to the routers broadcasted connection I created. I use the public one. You will have to use a device to connect to it then share the internet via wifi hotspot/tethering to your console. Device= anything that can connect to wifi and share it or provide hotspot via wifi sharing if you cannot connect and share at the same time it will not work. Ps5 won't allow the browser to open the sign in page. Not sure about Xbox

Edit2: wifi is unlimited 10$ 30 days. They say 50 mbps for my area idk if it differs elsewhere but I rarely have lag issues ping is usually around 55 to 100

I use my mobile hotspot for poe2 sometimes. Have no issue with it, ping is 35. I just have to be in a good location with a good connection.
