so ive been learing a lot this league about builds, crafting and endgame. I am eager to put it to the test at the start of the next league. Yes i am aware they are planning to change a lot about the endgame content.
Is there any indicator to when it is going to start? Mathematically it would be around mid april right?

Should be around may, with teasers starting on april. Leagues on both PoE1 and 2 last about four months, with an offset of two months between each game's league start, and a new one basically just started on 1, so yeah, may.

There is a banner in-game at the login screen that has information about 0.5
That information is essentially "We'll give you information at the end of April."
There is a timer with the predicted start time on https://poe2db.tw/us/
Once we know the exact time, it'll be updated.
They said they will reveal info about 0.5 towards the end of April. Which means 0.5 release about 2 weeks later which is early/mid May.
Not before I have increased form lvl 99 to level 100. And now I play d4 s12 for 2 weeks that steals poe2 tome :)
