Empathy for idiocy is one of the main factors that got us to the state we are in. Failing on an open-note exam that has zero new material and questions lifted directly from previous tests and assignments means they purposefully chose not to study or even take note of what they learned. They should fail and face real world consequences for their decision.

Society failed these kids. How are you handed an iPad at 4 and expected to read long form questions as a teen? I’m saying society not specifically parents are to blame. Long work hours, no subsidized childcare/medical, inflation, limited access to mental health services for parents. How could they be expected to do better?
