What 6 Months of Testing Products Taught Me About Avoiding Saturated Markets
I’ve been experimenting online for about half a year, trying different products to see what sticks. Here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:
1️⃣ Test small, test fast
- Don’t invest too much time or energy in a product at first. A small experiment can show you whether it’s worth pursuing.
2️⃣ Kill losers quickly
- If something isn’t showing traction early, don’t hold onto it hoping it’ll take off. Cut it fast and move on.
3️⃣ Spot the red oceans
- Some products are overcrowded and almost impossible to compete in. Learn to recognize when a niche is too saturated before diving in.
4️⃣ Focus on unique angles
- Even small differentiators—presentation, packaging, or target audience—can make the difference between success and a dead end.
TL;DR:
- Test fast, cut losses fast, avoid crowded markets, and look for small edges.
- The less you get stuck in saturated spaces, the more room you have to find winners.
Would love to hear how others decide what’s worth testing and when to give up. Any tips or lessons learned?
