Nothing like a corporate/office job to suck the soul out of your body.
Can I hate corporate America with only half my ass? Can I use the other half of my ass to hate this country and the politicians who run it?
How did you get ahold of this video of me and my exact thoughts??
I am 35 and have been lucky to have had a few corporate jobs and I can confidentially say the money, the benefits, the psuedo perks, NOTHING, makes it worth the soul crushing work it is. It's all just fake. You have to be okay with code switching and really being fake as fuck every single day of your life. I returned to restaurant work, lucky to only have to work 4 days a week and have time, energy, and money, to do my own thing. Literally typing this from a hotel cause I'm on vacation right now.
This is the 2026 version of “very mindful, very demure”
Shrug. Grass isn't greener in other careers.
My Dad worked outside, manual labor his entire life, until both knees got replaced twice. It was soul crushing work.
I sit in an air conditioned cubicle, earning 3 times his highest salary, scroll on Reddit all day, and answer stupid questions via email and messenger. It is soul crushing work.
But I don't want my Dads career. And I don't want to work at a fancy restaurant. Even selling drugs can be demanding and full of obvious risks.
This video could have been an email.

“Most unremarkable idiots” omg spot on! Seeing these egregiously high-paid ppl just opt for copying their peers over & over again, and getting rewarded hugely for it even when the results are mediocre or terrible, drives me insane
Meritocracy is dead. Working hard accomplishes nothing but to get ur VPs bigger bonuses, who will “reward” u with 1% raise and a benefits enshittification
