Short form vertical video is essentially the new distribution layer for long content
Something I’ve been noticing lately is how short form vertical video has turned into the main way people distribute longer content.
A lot of podcasts, YouTube channels, and even webinars are now producing one long video and then cutting it into a bunch of vertical clips for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
In some cases the short clips actually outperform the original long video and bring in way more new viewers.
It almost feels like the long form content is the raw material and the short form vertical video clips are the actual marketing.
Curious if other people here are doing the same thing.
Do you plan the vertical clips while recording the long video, or just find moments during editing?
