Why does TikTok automatically scroll on videos?

Does anyone else have their TikTok app randomly just automatically scroll past a video like 2-3 seconds in to the video? Why the hell does it do that? Is it some kind of way for them to try mine some type of algorithm data or something?

It’s really starting to get on my nerves.
