I see so many posts here from people who want more clicks and followers, but for what?

Do you really think more followers = more money?

I think a lot of people are stuck in that misconception. Attention does not equal more money.

Most of you probably aren’t even solving a specific problem for a specific audience to generate real sales. Brand deals pay poorly unless you have several million followers, and CPMs aren’t much better. Most of you are building an audience that isn’t willing to pay.

you're right that followers != money for most people, but the framing of "building an audience that won't pay" misses the distribution layer.

the founders I know who actually converted audience into revenue weren't selling to the followers -- they were using the audience as proof. investors, enterprise clients, press. a 50k Twitter following is a different kind of asset than brand deal revenue, and it compounds differently.

that said, for most normal people chasing likes without a clear "what then" plan, you're absolutely right. attention without a conversion mechanism is just a vanity metric.

It’s true that virality is a bit of a superficial race and doesn’t really mean much on its own, because not all views are equal.

the "audience as proof" thing BP041 mentioned is the real answer here. the people i've seen make this work weren't selling to their followers, they were using the following to open doors that would've been closed otherwise. partnerships, press, investor conversations.

but yeah for most people chasing followers without knowing what they'd do with them is just productive procrastination. feels like work, isn't work

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
