They also have disturbing amount of body parts of saints. Friend of mine had a some body part of a saint in his home that he got from a church as a blessing or something.
Pretty morbid to bring pieces of corpses to your home from church.
I googled the "jawbone of st Anthony of padua." Why...what the hell is that?
Can't believe I'm the first redditor here to post Mary Magdalene skull. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relics_of_Mary_Magdalene

Transmutation, bones in the alter, their colorful pageantry.
that’s like the most tame stuff the Vatican has
Oh Catholics LOVE their relics and bones. It’s why the Lutherans made such a stink by walking in and stomping them into dust in front of the congregation.
The only reason I am grateful for the Catholic Church is that it most certainly helped create the lore of Warhammer 40k with all its skulls, seals, incense, and superstition. To this day that is (imho) the most accurate sci fi of humanity I’ve ever seen. The bureaucracy, the massive scale suffering, the faith placed in explainable phenomena, and the massive xenophobia makes a perfect analogy for humanity.
