Should I split my TikTok account into two (one for content, one for Live) to avoid a shadowban/ban?
I’m currently managing a TikTok account for an organization. My goal is to start incorporating Live streaming to boost our reach and engagement. However, our Head of Marketing is hesitant because the previous accounts have recently been banned or penalized following Live sessions.
To mitigate the risk of losing our main account and its existing followers, I’m considering a two-account strategy:
- Main Account: Strictly for short-form video content (TikToks/Reels style).
- Live Account: Exclusively for Live streaming and real-time engagement.
My questions for the experts here:
- Is it a good idea to split the accounts, or does this dilute the brand and confuse the audience?
- Does TikTok’s algorithm penalize "Live-only" accounts?
- Has anyone actually seen a "split strategy" work effectively for an organization?
- Are there specific safety protocols we should follow during Lives to ensure we don't trigger an automatic ban?
I’d love to hear your thoughts or if you’ve dealt with similar "fear-based" marketing constraints!
