TikTok LIVE isn't showing me who is talking with visual 'blue box' indications

Cleared cache, cleared data, reinstalled after removing the app from my phone. Still isn't working.

Another interesting thing of note that may be related is that my messaging center on this phone is different than on my other phone even though it's logged into the same account. On one it allows me to send messages with audio and on the other it says that that is not available in my region when I try to use that feature so maybe that's got something to do with it? Both phones have the exact same app version installed ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
