Is it worth buying a TikTok account with non-US followers if I live in the US?

I’m thinking about buying a TikTok account (~15k followers), but it’s originally from an African country (followers + content are not US-based).

I’m currently in the US, and my main goal is to join the TikTok Creator Program.

My questions:

  • If I start using the account from the US, will I be eligible for the Creator Program?
  • Does TikTok base eligibility more on the account’s history/location or my current location?
  • If I delete all old videos and start posting US-targeted content, will the account “reset” and perform normally?
  • Has anyone here actually done something similar successfully?

Also, if buying is actually viable:

  • Where do people buy real US-based TikTok accounts with engaged followers (not bots, real audience)?
  • Any trusted marketplaces or methods to avoid getting scammed?

I don’t want to waste money if the account ends up stuck outside the program or gets low reach.

I doubt it's worth it but who knows. I've owned social media accounts with roughly that many followers (global audience) and you'd be shocked how easy, and worthless, it is to achieve.

Generally they don't engage with anything. You're better off trying to build an audience from scratch, in my personal opinion.

It’s usually not worth it. TikTok looks at more than just where you log in from. Account history, audience location, engagement patterns, and past content all influence distribution and eligibility. If most followers are from a different region, your new US-targeted videos may still get shown to that old audience first, which can hurt retention and reach.

Deleting old videos also doesn’t really “reset” the account. The system still has behavioral history, and a sudden shift in niche, location, and audience can actually look suspicious. That sometimes leads to lower reach, not better. For the Creator Program, eligibility is typically based on your current region plus compliance metrics, but audience geography and performance still matter for monetization.

Buying accounts also carries risk. Ownership transfers can trigger flags, and if the seller keeps recovery access, you could lose the account later. Even if it works, you’re inheriting an audience that didn’t follow you for your content, which makes growth harder.

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
