2x speed broken?

is the 2x speed broken for anyone else or is it my phone thats the issue? every time i try holding for 2x speed it ends up stopping midway even when im still holding it down. i dont wanna do the thing where you can have 2x speed without touching it since sometimes i end up missing something a person has said and need to rewind back, i was wondering if this is an issue for anyone else or is the touch screen on my phone cooked?
