The shaming will continue until the culture improves.
So like, can anyone, preferably a swede, confirm whether or not this is even a thing? Because I remember this stupid fucking map without any citations for it, spreading this shit, claiming the same thing about my home region completely incorrectly.
I don't get it
Noticing that everyone making the claims is non-Swedish while everyone denying the claims is Swedish
I'm gonna go ahead and trust the Swedes on Swedish culture rather than the upvote botted Sweden-bashers
In Finland this was much more common in the 90's after the finance crisis over here.
But with the new generations it is not like that anymore.
Come in Italy, we cook even for your family at home! 🤣
Can someone explain the logic here? Like I don’t think Scandinavian people lived in isolation their whole life not seeing anyone except close family, having a place at table for guests is normal for every culture I know
Is there any reason or explanation why they do that?
Whatever, true or not, he can cook for me and feed me any time.
It's simple not true, in Sweden it was considered polite to ask if the kids would stay for dinner. Sometimes the parents would åick the kids up, but after that familjesituation regular dinner hours. So you would w8 while the ate or untill your parents showed up. It was considered a bigger deal before not eating with your iwn family.
Definitely a Dutch thing sort of. Most of the times you just had to leave when it was time to eat dinner lol
