Somebody saw them drop it off, because it wasn't stripped there I'll tell you that much. It takes time and equipment to pull a powertrain out. Also, interesting that they'd leave the hood and doors? Those come off pretty easy and are worth something too. I'd be asking the neighbors to check their home cameras to see if it caught a truck with the car on a trailer, passing by. Might be able to tell the plates of the truck or if whoever used it used a tow service you'll have the companies name on the tow trucks door that you can call to find out who ordered the pickup and drop-off. Otherwise someone loaded it onto a trailer then dumped it, but someone surely had to notice that happening you'd think.

At some point, it’s gotta be easier just to take the whole car

We were visiting my Maw Maw in Metairie, LA for Christmas . This was in 1990. We were to head back home when my aunt left for work and asked my Maw Maw if we had left already, the car isn’t in the driveway. Maw maw said no, the kids are still on the couch. She went and woke up my dad and sure enough the car had been stolen. My uncle came home late night that night around 2:30am. My aunt was leaving for work at 5am. We called the cops around 5:15am and the cops said they would look out for it. They found it STRIPPED to the bone in this old woman’s front yard around 9am a few miles from the house. By the time they “stole” the vehicle, took it there and stripped it, the cops estimated three hours of them getting the job done. They asked the women why she didn’t report it and the people in the neighborhood are scared to call the police because of repercussions from the people who are stripping the car. And get this. The car wasn’t totaled by the insurance company. They paid for every single piece to be put back onto the vehicle that was taken, and it took two weeks for it to get finished. So I assure you. This can be done and it does happen more often than you might think.

In all honesty, this can not be true.

this has to be fake

the time and resources (im guessing) it takes to take out an entire engine would be way too much
