ABOUT THE PROJECT
Reality Games is an independent feature film premiering at the Victoria Theater in San Francisco (450 seats) on May 16, followed by an after-party at Gray Area and a week of community screenings.
It’s the ultimate internet ghost story: what happens if someone with incredible cunning decides to ruin you? The film brings a nuanced conversation about disinformation and deepfakes to a general audience, and its launch at the start of the Summer of AI makes visceral some of our biggest questions and challenges as a society.
The movie is of special interest to a Gen-Z audience interested in thrillers, gaming, AI, and tech, and also reaches a much broader audience of all ages.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The goals of our marketing campaign, in order, are:
- Create a good brand presence and SEO for press and people who want to partner with us
- Butts in seats: get the word out to the Bay Area.
- Retargeting people who have already been invited (millenial tech & artist audience)
- Reaching new people
- Gather data about audience response
- Evaluate different messages, formats, and communities
- Social listening
We’ve got tickets to sell, and it’s also important to us to begin the brand and audience building that will take our movie to a wider release.
This role’s primary focus is organic (socials, SEO, content).
We have a preliminary sense of platforms and audiences, and would be asking your strategic advice as well.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build the brand of our social media accounts
- Grow followers with organic content and discussion (sincere or silly/playful)
- Regular posting to socials (Instagram, X, Reddit, TikTok)
- Engage directly with our audience
- Social listening: find and match the content they are engaging with
- Content creation
- Reply to DMs and comments, creating a funnel towards our premiere and mailing list
- Engage with influencers and top accounts who are in our audience (film, Bay Area, ARG/unfiction, gaming, AI, thrillers, creepypastas)
- Track metrics for conversions and successful campaigns
Bonus points if you can do these as well:
- Paid ads (mostly video)
- Social listening
- Editing and content production: trailer remixes, BTS, character, moments, reaction bait, trend adaptations
- Street team
